Ol' "Bugs" could ride the heck out of a BSA. I read he grew up always riding the jalopy, smaller bike and that's what made him so fast. He had to ride those crumby little bikes super hard to keep up with his buds. (not sure if that's him on the bottom left)

Bottom left #59 is not Bugsy, it's Kenny Eggers, member of the BSA Wrecking Crew who swept the top 5 finishes at the Daytona 200 1954. My wife's late cousin, I barely got to meet him before he died 2 years ago. Little did I know who he was. Terribly humble, and fast as hell! The other guy could be Bugsy, as he debuted in 1954 as an amatuer on BSA, but didn't get a podium finish until 1958 there. Strangely, it looks like him, but he shouldn't be holding a trophy!

The picture is Portland Meadows 1954, it is Kenny Eggers & Dick Mann, the guys on either side are Ang & Don Rossi (father & son) o f Santa Rosa. Dick was a amateur that year & did win 1st for the amateur class & Kenny won 1st for the expert class that year. The bikes are Kenny's 1952 BSA he rode at Daytona that year (Dick is riding) & Kenny's 1954 BSA he rode at Daytona that year. Kenny placed 10th in '52 and 5th in '54 at Daytona.
